Find it, love it, buy it!

A couple weeks ago I had oral surgery early on a Monday morning. In fact, I was his very first patient that day. And this was the kind of surgery where you couldn't eat or drink anything for eight hours prior. As to be expected, I had some anxiety prior to the surgery (will it hurt, how will I feel after, etc.) Once I was in the chair waiting for the surgeon, his nurse told me my blood pressure was high. But then she said that's normal, that everybody's blood pressure goes up when they go in there. (not surprised!) The surgeon then came in and asked me how my Easter was, and I proceeded to tell him that it was a great day and after dinner I worked in my flower beds. He responded with, "Yes, it was a beautiful day for that, and I'm going to put you to sleep now." The next thing I knew someone was calling my name and saying it's time to go home. I was a little sleepy but otherwise felt fine. No pain or discomfort at all. The surgeon gave me some antibiotics and pain meds in case I needed them (but I never did). He said to go home and rest. However, later in the afternoon I became nauseated and had a slight headache. This pretty much ruined my afternoon and evening, since it didn't subside until around 10 pm. The next morning I was feeling much better, just a little tired. My own diagnosis of the prior afternoon is that I was having a delayed reaction to the medication that had put me to sleep. If not that, then I have no clue. I was just glad it was gone.
While having my first coffee in over 24 hours (it tasted so good!) my daughter texted me saying she had the day off and did I want to go to Hobby Lobby with her? I love Hobby Lobby and I love shopping with my daughter, but I was thinking, "Should I go or should I rest?" Well, it's no contest, I decided to go, because a shopping trip to Hobby Lobby sounded so good. Plus, maybe it could serve as a reward for getting through the "On Monday mornin', you gave me no warnin' of what was to be" experience.
Now, what made this trip different than my other shopping trips to Hobby Lobby is that I didn't have a specific item I was looking for. Normally when I go shopping, I may end up buying some impulse items, but I always have a target item I'm looking for. Not so this time, I was just along for the ride. And that was so much more fun! (No man would ever think of doing this, just saying.)
While my daughter was seeking out storage solutions for her kitchen, I gravitated to the patriotic aisle, because I love, love, love the red, white and blue. So many cool things!
(My daughter's advice is this: ask yourself if you LOVE it, or do you just like it? If it's only a like, pass on buying) Well, I was loving everything! Ever have that happen? It's pretty exciting, but not good for your budget. I ended up asking myself, do I need it, or can I use it? That worked a little better, resulting in purchasing a couple table runners, a patriotic wood sign (which I have since painted as a gift for someone), some temporary glitter tattoos (can use for school), a patriotic pillow cover (it's now on my sofa), a set of letter stencils (I use those frequently with my painting business) and a cute pair of socks for my granddaughter who is graduating this year, that says "One Smart Cookie". (Notice how I justified all those purchases by letting you know they have been put to good use?!) But wait, there's more! After exiting Hobby Lobby, we went home, I had coffee while my daughter tried to better organize her kitchen with her Hobby Lobby purchases, and then we headed to Dollar Tree to repeat the experience of finding it, loving it, and buying it. What a fun day!! You ought to try it sometime!
